While the market was a bit smaller this year, the important people still showed up and we had a blast, as always. Great to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones. Meetings and craziness overlapped and deals were done as cocktails were downed. This market served as the first test of ‘The Gundersons’ and given that the project kicks ass, it was very well received by broadcasters and with one distribbery offering to come onboard on the spot.
The studio also focused on Monkey Business. While everyone liked the pilot, some areas of the world like it more than others.
“People from North America chuckled and found it really funny. People from Europe laughed out loud. But people from Asia, well, that was crazy. We are talking knee-slapping, tears rolling down the face and screaming at the screen kinda funny. I can’t even explain it. At first I thought there was something wrong with them, I mean, we made it, and it’s funny, but it ain’t that funny.” the studio’s pitch maestro explains.
Destined for greatness in Asia and the Pacific, the studio is looking to lock in several broadcaster on the project within the coming months.
